Welcome

Welcome on the Arcallians team's WebSite

The aim of this wiki is to present projects from the arcallians team and to provide to users and developpers some documentations about their use and development.

The engine : Orx
Orx is the name of the game engine which run games. The main feature of this engine is to be very extensible and has been designed with portability in mind.
The goal of this website is to present objectives and features of the game engine, its architecture and to provide a complete documentation on its modules (in addition to the help provided by the API documentation reference manual).
If you want to know what Orx means, well... We don’t know yet :-) But we will find something. We are opened to all suggestions.
Why not Open and Really eXtensible engine ?

The platform : EditOrx
The platform is going to be the tool used to make games. It will provide a way to mix severals parts (Sounds, Graphics) and particularly a set of tools to program each AI with the help of the orx scripting language.
At the moment, the editor is cut out in two layers. The first one is used to create a generic and extensible platform. A project called wxDevCenter provide this application.
The second layer is a set of plugins for that platform, that will make the real tool to create games. We had (and still have) lots of discussions between developpers (and a bit of trolls) to choose if it is better to continue the development of wxDevCenter or if it would be better to use a ready application layer (but a bit heavier) like eclipse.

La guerre des Paquerettes
La guerre des Paquerette is the game which is the source of the two previous project. Its development is currently “paused”, but will restart, (we hope) quickly as soon as tools will be operational.
